The newest single from Valaura is “Running in Circles” and it is a great way to explore the band’s abilities and talents. The song starts with piano and guitars and the rhythm is built up when the drums kick in. But the real show starts when Casey Cafego’s vocals take center stage. I have to be honest, her voice is one of the most powerful, soulful and rich I’ve ever heard. Words can’t fully capture how her singing elevates this track, every second of her performance is unforgettable. If I had all day to describe her voice, it still wouldn’t feel like enough.
The band perfectly blends hard rock with a hint of jazz and blues, which is a clear indication of the creativity and talent of the band. The instrumentation is polished and perfectly balanced, with each element supporting the others to create a solid and exciting track. The lyrics are deep and meaningful as they explore themes of chasing satisfaction and battling inner turmoil.
Drawing inspiration from acts like Arctic Monkeys and Florence and the Machine, Valaura has come up with a new yet classic sound. I am quite amazed on how they were able to put drive and emotion with great songwriting into such a well produced song. If you haven’t yet, I highly recommend listening to their previous song “Take My Hand” which carries the same energy and artistry. Valaura is a band with great potential and I’ll be keeping my eyes and ears on them as they rise.
