Red Skies Mourning – Myosotis

Red Skies Mourning is a musical project of Baltimore-based artist Chris Aleshire and with “Myosotis” he has created a work of art. “Myosotis” is not just music, it is an experience. This album alone is enough to show that Red Skies Mourning is an artist of the future. This album was released in October and is a mix of pop-rock, electronic music, and lyrics that are about life, love, and personal experiences. With the help of producer CESAR and co-writer Ryan Curtis, Chris has created an album that is not easily categorizable but is still very much his own story and one that many people can relate to.

The album starts with the song “Already Know” and to be quite honest, I think that is what kept me engaged here. “Borderline” has captivating melodies and its chorus sticks in my mind for a while. Tracks like “Obvious” tackle timely themes, such as technology’s impact on human connection, with a depth that encourages reflection. From its polished production to its honest songwriting, “Myosotis” highlights Chris Aleshire’s evolution as an artist and his ability to create music that resonates with listeners on multiple levels.

Honestly, I was completely hooked from the moment I pressed play. Usually, I take breaks when exploring albums, but this one was on a loop from beginning to end for me. The combination of powerful vocals, passionate and honest lyrics and top-notch production made every song memorable. During my morning drive, I was able to sing along with the songs and was impressed by Aleshire’s vocals and the hooks of the songs in the album. I am looking forward to seeing what they do next.
