I only recently came across Mad Painter with their latest song “Debt Collector” which is a blues-rock banger that could have easily been released in the 70s. The track represents true classic rock inspired by bands like Nazareth and Deep Purple, great guitar solos, Hammond organ over marshall amplifier, high powerful vocals. The sound is polished, the recording was made in Tom Hamilton’s studio, which reflects the band’s vintage aesthetics.
What sets Mad Painter apart from other bands is its poetic lyrics penned by Dmitry M. Epstein hopfully this adds an interesting twist to the song. The instrumentation is rich and also very strong, the catchy melodies and the brassy recording give Mad Painter’s production play a strong foundation. As you can see, this band is well aware of how it is possible to pay tribute to rock veterans and, at the same time, create something different. With “Island Poetry” as their upcoming album, Debt Collector has released this second single that is just as powerful. Overall, I enjoyed the old school/new school approach that this project has and I’m excited to see more of what this band has up their sleeve. This track is for rock enthusiasts and all indications are that the future holds much hope for this band.
