German singer-songwriter Ian Leding just hit my radar last week with his 2022 album, “Lucifleure.” It is still a timeless acoustic album that dives into the artist’s personal thoughts and spirit. The album consists of nine songs and combines haunting and tender vocals with dark and gloomy music. Ian Leding is a gothic folk and darkwave artist, and this album proves that he is capable of making music that is both emotional and meaningful.
His voice is rich and deep and it is the main focus of the album as the acoustic instruments accompany it. Every song is a story and has a message, but it also has a sad tone and is very real. The technicality of the guitar and the lyrical content of the songs made “Lucifleure” unique and a great example of acoustic music.
For those who would like to have even more, there is a live version of some of these songs in his latest release, “Northern Skies (Live in Jersbek)“ which brings an extra touch of energy to these strong songs. Honestly, I find “Lucifleure” to be a very intimate record that leaves a lasting impression even after listening to it. If you are a fan of acoustic music with a lot of emotion in it, then this is an album you should definitely listen to if you haven’t done so yet.
