R&B and Soul-Pop band Carly and The Universe left us stuck on repeat with their latest song “Honey”. The song comes with a beautiful music video that will surely give you a better experience while interesting. The singing voice is a piece of art and the tune is incredibly catchy. The lyrics are beautifully written and the production is professional and meshes with the vocalist’s voice perfectly. This record is one of the catchiest songs we’ve ever heard and it left us super excited to see where this band’s career will go over the coming months!
WHAT THE BAND SAYS ABOUT THIS SONG:
“The song Honey is our attempt at mash up with a rag time riff with a modern twist. The song is about wanting to be in control, but of course as humans, we are just along for the ride. This song is related personally to Carly’s asthma and what it’s like not being able to breathe at times.”
ABOUT THE VIDEO:
“We shot this video at Carly’s house! Carly had to learn a dance for this one, and source a lot of Honey for that jar! This video is about being playful and sexy and of course tasting some delicious honey!”
ABOUT THE BAND:
Welcome to the whimsical world of Carly and the Universe, an R&B and soul pop band that is incorporating more hip-hop elements into their music this time around on their EP titled First Contact. Lyrical themes always come down to matters of the mind from relationships to memories and, of course, life lessons.
The band is an awkward group of weirdos consisting of Carly Liza (singer/songwriter), Mike Post (guitarist/producer), Freddy Hernandez (bass), and Cameron Clark (drums). They hail from all over the globe, but are currently based in Los Angeles. They all have a love for creating music together, eating snacks, and picking on each other, but at the end of the day are all just looking to be creative “all day errr day”.
Carly is the Cat, Mike is the Moose, Freddy is the Fish, Cameron is the Camarones. Together, they make up the animal kingdom that sonically in-turn makes up the Universe.
Is your mind blown? Well, either way, you’re welcome.
