This masterpiece “If You Wanna Know” by Neil Nathan, is one of the best country songs you could ever hear! Neil Nathan has a voice that stays long with you, he has one of the richest voices we’ve heard lately and his vocal performance is incredibly catchy! Neil’s voice and the production of the song are perfectly complementary, which makes the melody sparkle. The guitars are beautiful and there is an amazing level of songwriting that shines up through this record. Neil’s lyrics and vocal melodies are very catchy and the production is smart and very professional. This song is a great experience from start to finish!

WHAT THE ARTIST SAYS ABOUT THIS SONG:

” I was visiting my brother in redondo beach, california. there was a rather steep and winding ramp down to the beach. one day, two little kids, prolly 5 or 6, were running down it for fun. the little girl was giggling like a hyena as she teetered on the edge of control, repeatedly announcing, “i can’t handle myself! i can’t handle myself!“ it struck me as a hilariously bizzarre phrase. but one that seemed like a great, honest excuse for poor behavior with a loved one. so i wrote a song about it. “if you wanna know why i can’t handle you, if you wanna know, baby here’s the truth. if you wanna know why…i can’t handle myself” thanks wild little girl in redondo beach.”

ABOUT THE ARTIST:

Since emerging in 2008 with his folky cover of ELO’s “Do Ya” – which earned the praise of rock legend, Jeff Lynne and was included on the Showtime hit “Californication” – the multi-faceted artist Neil Nathan (neilnathan.com) has made an art form out of joyfully schizophrenic record making, jumping seamlessly from genre to genre (blistering rock to intimate ethereal folk).

Praised by UK music and film magazine No Ripcord, as “the bastard stepchild of Jackson Browne and David Bowie,” Neil recorded his debut LP, The Distance Calls in Detroit Rock City. Produced by Garage Rock Hero Bobby Harlow (King Tuff, The Go), it featured musicians from Raconteurs, Queens of the Stone Age, The Go, King Tuff, and Detroit Cobras. The album’s track “California Run” was featured on ESPN and NHL Network, and was spun live at San Francisco Giants games. Actress Rosario Dawson, guest starred in the music video.

Neil’s fiery follow-up, the power to the people concept LP, ‘Sweep The Nation,’ earned critical praise as a “scintillating master work” and a “crunchy hard rocking masterpiece,” and was called “Impressive” by both Magnet Magazine and Vinyl District. Huffington Post called his claymation “Jumpstart” music video from the record, “a bizarre good time.”

Neil recently recorded three rockers in Texas with Joey Mcclellan and Mckenzie Smith (Elle King, St. Vincent, Midlake) and is currently recording multiple LP’s & EP’s in Philadelphia w/ Mike Slo-Mo Brenner (Songs Molina, Marah, Wild Pink).
