Wax Owls – Come On

“Come On” is the new single from LA indie/alt trio Wax Owls. The minute we heard this song we couldn’t get it out of our heads, it’s incredibly catchy and one of the best songs we have heard in months. It’s one of those rare songs that just leave you stuck on repeat for a long time. The vocalist has a charming voice and this song shows off the beauty of his voice. The lyrics are original and mesh perfectly with the melodies, and the chorus is wonderful. We have enjoyed listening to their guitars and drums until the last second. The production work is polished and professional and the atmospheres of this track are very unique. It was an amazing experience for our team!

WHAT THE BAND SAYS ABOUT THIS SONG:

Vocalist Gerry Hirschfeld says on the track, “‘Come On’ was one of the first two songs we finished as a band. I wrote the lyrics after one of my mentors, Gabe McConaill, committed suicide. I wanted to write a song that acknowledged and celebrated the positives that come with feeling too much. Namely, that enduring through difficult times can feel can make us more emphatic. When I recorded the demo of this song I wanted the chorus to have the spinning sound of an organ going thru Leslie speaker. Since I don’t have one, I just tracked myself harmonizing “yeahyeahyeah” to impersonate the sound in my head. The imperfections of my attempt to sing an organ part ended up giving the song a cool vibe and that part can be heard in this final version as well.”
