“Simple,” by Zach Cornell, is one of the best Folk songs we have heard in a while! The minute we heard this song we have fallen in love with it! Zach vocal performance is incredibly catchy and very professional which definitely shows how talented he is. Zach has one of the richest voices you could ever hear and his lyrics are so original. There is an amazing level of songwriting that shines up through this record and the melodies are so catchy. The guitar work is very beautiful and the production work is polished and sounds very professional. Such a great experience!

“I wrote Simple during a time when I had a lot of things starting to pile up. And we live in an age where we only see everyone else’s best days on social media, so it’s easy to think everybody else is just having a great time during our struggles. I remember saying the phrase from the chorus, “I don’t know how they make it seem so simple,” while talking to my wife about that. I knew right away I wanted to write a song around that. But when I sat down with the guitar, I knew I didn’t want this to be a song about my personal struggles. Rather, I wanted to write about if things were a hundred times worse than they were for us at that time, because things can always be worse. So I thought of everything that was going on in my life and escalated it to a whole new level. It somehow feels more relatable now than if each verse had been about real circumstances. While it took some doing, I really enjoyed writing this one, because the deeper I dove into the song the more it turned into this old-time country murder ballad. In the studio, the upright bass and fiddle really gave it that old-time feel too, which I love.”
