The New York-based singer-songwriter Rachel Shaps released a new song titled “Getting Over You” feat. Bellla. After the first listen we immediately fell in love with Rachel’s wonderful and pure voice. Her beautiful style of lyrics and singing makes her beats most of the artists on the stage. She is a talented artist and her infectiously catchy vocal style took all the attention and will be the reason for her success. This song is a beautiful piece and we’re really excited to see what Shaps will bring next.
WHAT THE ARTIST SAYS ABOUT THIS SONG:
“I think this song is perfect for a summer bop, but the lyrics are also so much deeper and more empowering than at first listen. I love the simple, pop production on it and think its the perfect song to play with the top down in the car with your friends, on a girls night, or at a pool/beach party!”
ABOUT THE ARTIST:
Rachel Shaps, a singer/songwriter from New York, has been around music her entire life. The granddaughter of performing icon Eartha Kitt, Shaps grew up traveling to shows, singing, and writing original songs.
Shaps’ talents as a vocalist are striking; her full-bodied power evokes her grandmother, although her tone is smoother; her control and subtle annunciations convey emotion with the trained effectiveness of a seasoned performer, although she’s only 23. As a songwriter, Shaps lives in a blended space between pop, alternative, and soul. In tracks like “Learn My Lesson,” Shaps manages to capture the catchy, commercial side of pop while also capitalizing on the deeper, personal notes that underlie her writing and allow her to connect with her audience.
